Panama City Real Estate

Panama City is located in the Panhandle of Florida, directly on St Andrews Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.   It is the largest city between Tallahassee and Pensacola and serves as the county seat for Bay County.  As of 2010 the population of Panama City is just over 36,000 residents.  The weather in Panama City is a subtropical  climate with short winters and long hot summers.  In 2006 Panama city was named in the top 10 cities to invest in real estate according to CNN.  The real estate market took a sharp upturn in the early to mid 2000's and in early 2006, the market shifted and corrected.  Currently Panama City real estate market values mirror the values in 2004 before the spike in prices.   The real estate market is expected to stabilize and improve over the next 18 to 24 months.

The largest employers in Panama City are Rock-Tenn, otherwise know as the "paper mill", Arizona Chemical and Tyndall Airforce Base.
